About My Trek
The Following are sounds that were captured around Milwaukee, WI near the shore of Lake Michigan, the UW-Milwaukee Campus and surrounding area. Accompanied by these sounds are hand drawn maps which illustrate the area I was in, and were I was when I recorded the sounds. The device I used to capture the sounds is a Sony NH-700 Hi-MD recorder. I hope you enjoy them, thank you.

It was getting late in Milwaukee so i decided to go home to New Berlin, WI to finish my trek. As soon as I pulled into my driveway and got out of my car and there was a slight breeze blowing, and that is when I heard the perfect sound. The sound of my mom's Wind chime in the crisp Autumn air of a Wisconsin night.

On my trek I covered a lot of ground, going all around the campus, the neighborhoods, and even the shore of Lake Michigan. while walking along Lake Dr. I stumbled on to this group of Soccer players. They must have been just finishing up their game but I recorded sounds of them playing and also the sounds of them beating their cleats to get the mud off, it was an interesting set of sounds to hear all these sets odd cleats being beaten at the same time.

While I was walking around on my trek I was able to find another audio gem. In this dead - end road, lined with large houses I picked up this group of little girls playing with a ball. I walked closer to the group of girls playing in order to record them better. While I was walking closer to the girls I was able to capture the sounds of an old man mowing his lawn with an old push mower. Together this recording is a nice meld of the kids playing and the old push mower.

On my Trek I was walking down the side walk, passing large houses and trees. That is were i got this combination of nature and civilization. As I walked I was picking up the sounds of the birds above me in the trees, I could not see them I could only hear them. Then as i got closer to another intersection i heard this loud car coming, i was unable to see what kind of car it was but it sounded powerful.

On my Trek as I was walking around capturing sound, I came to this intersection that i had to cross, as I got to the other end I stepped in a rather big puddle. I liked hearing the sound of my foot stomping down into it, and so that is what i did. I captured the sound of me stomping my foot into this big puddle for this recording. This was a fun one to do.
